Artist’s statement

The challenge I set myself with every window is to capture the essence of my subject without compromise to technical difficulties. I try to create depth and subtlety in the representation of natural subjects in stained glass. Sometimes I combine glass with other materials, such as carved wood and cast bronze.

Unfortunately, a fine magazine, Glass Craftsman, to which I have contributed several articles, ceased publication after the Fall 2011 issue.

Lecture at Warner-Crivellaro Stained Glass. Christie Wood, Common Ground: Glass, Fall 1997. In May 1997, I went to Allentown PA to give a talk about plating techniques (i.e. using more than one layer of glass to achieve special effects in a window). This is the account of the meeting. I am very grateful to Christie for writing up properly what I only had in rough note form.
