Symphoria

(2014) 36” x 24”; Stained glass panel.
This panel was created as a celebration of the first full season of Symphoria, the symphony orchestra of Syracuse, NY. In 2011, the 50 year-old Syracuse Symphony Orchestra was closed for financial reasons, and the musicians courageously built a new, co-op orchestra to succeed it.
The scene at the bottom is of Erie Canal cutting through central Syracuse in about 1878. The Phoenix represents the re-born orchestra.
The panel was used to raise funds for Symphoria.
